About this piece: Sometimes art tells stories you didn't know you wanted to tell. My father was an alcoholic and was in a veteran's hospital for most of my teenage years suffering from Cirrhosis of the Liver. Just before my 16th birthday, he was released from the hospital and got in his car to come see me. On the way, he picked up a case of beer. Surprisingly, he was arrested for drunk driving and assaulting a police officer just a few miles from my house. When I was thinking about him over Christmas, and that specific incident, this is what started forming. What a sad man.
Been somewhere similar. Great feeling communicated here, like the motifs.
So wonderful to hear the feeling communicated, it's hard for me to gauge how well my sentiments translate onto the page. It's unfortunate that the story is so relate-able for so many, but I suppose our stories are what make us who we are - without them we'd be awfully boring
That's sad. I can relate.
The beauty of sadness is how much it can speak to you over the years. I'm a much better person for it, I think.
WOW! I'm going to have to give these pens a try!
